About Us

As the holidays are upon us, and we are spending a lot of time around family I would like to take this opportunity to reintroduce a few family members of the Extra Innings Foundation to everyone.

Melissa (Missy) Batistic has been with us for over 5 years, first as a volunteer, then brought on to the board as the Activities Coordinator. She is now the Extra Innings Foundation’s Secretary. She does not play herself, but her husband and brothers play routinely in the Lake County area.

David Reed was originally a volunteer helping get donations for what he thought was a great cause. This lead him to becoming Donations Coordinator for the foundation. He will now be taking the position of President of Extra Innings Foundation. Some of you may know him for wearing a pink tutu while he plays in support of his 3 daughters. He plays in a few leagues in the metro area, as well as watching his oldest daughter play travel fast pitch softball.

Now some of you may be asking, where are some of the other members? As we all know, we have opportunities in life where we must either enter an open door or keep walking right by that open door. A few of our previous board members have chosen to enter those open doors to explore the possibilities on the other side. While they may not necessarily be on the board they will still be a part of this organization going forward. We would like to thank those members for their tireless help and dedication over the years to such a great cause.

We would like to take this time to personally thank Kevyn Kistner, Denise & Marty Smoley, and Megan McKinney who are all staying on as advisors and/or volunteers but have stepped down from their previous board positions. What has been built here would in no way be anywhere near where it is at this point or may not even exist at all without each and every one of your dedication to this foundation.

We love each one of you in your own special way and you will never be replaced, but we all know that “the show must go on”. The present board members will do everything in their power to carry the torch you all have lit for us. We have great visions moving forward in the foundation that you gave us roots in and will continue the tradition of true team spirit as we stretch our limbs and rally together in the name of Extra Innings Foundation for the outreach and relief of duress of our fellow players. We are #oneteam#onefamily

For those of you interested and questioning exactly how we have made our community better, we would like to share with you some great information. In 3 ½ short years Extra Innings Foundation has been able to send a total of $42,000 to local softball players and their families. Extra Innings Foundation has been able to return approximately 70% of every dollar donated.

Moving forward should you need any help or assistance from Extra Innings Foundation please feel free to contact one of the members we previously introduced. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing all of you at the event.

David Reed
